Message I'm fine replacing the whole camshaft. I just don't trust that camshaft. I have not put the belt back becuase I don't want to run it with a busted pin. Last time I put the belt on I rotated the crank 720 degrees by hand as instructed in the timing belt replacement procedure. When I replace the camshaft what should I be looking for to make sure nothing was damaged? Also Is the pin at 10 o'clock the correct position for passenger side intake at TDC?

:if the cam was not turning you have valves open . odds are it was turning or your engine would not start and the pistons would have slammed the valves , this doesnt mean the sprocket didnt walk alittle , it had to of since it sheered the pin off , you may have gotten real lucky . dont know if you can press a new pin in or not , thats a question for someone else . your loud intake and idle problem could be from the timing being off due to that sprocket or you have a vacumm leak at the intake gasket . either way it'll probably all need to come back apart if you cant drill and press a new pin and reset the timing belt.
